Missouri First State Capital Building

Historic St. Charles was the location of Missouri's First State Capital between 1821 and 1826. Tourist can visit the First State Capital or walk up and down cobblestone Main Street and visit shops and restaurants that reside within the renovated historic buildings, some dating back to the late 1700s.

Many annual festivals are held on Main Street and in Frontier Park. The Fete de Glace, or Festival of Ice, is held in January; the Festival of the Little Hills in August, Legends & Lanterns in October, Christmas Traditions Festival is held in December, plus many more throughout the year.
