Solar Sundays at the McDonnell Planetarium. Meet outside the McDonnell Planetarium to enjoy safely viewing the Sun through a variety of solar telescopes and safe viewing techniques and see features like sunspots and solar prominences. These events are FREE and weather permitting. Solar Sunday schedule occurs on Sundays between Memorial Day and Labor Day (June 1st - August 31st), 11am-3pm. The James S. McDonnell Planetarium, a part of the St. Louis Science Center, hosts many events throughout the year, from star gazing with telescopes on the lawn to educational films and presentations.
