The Audubon Center at Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary is located in West Alton, MO. The Sanctuary is designated as an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society. It encompasses a total of 3700 acres with over 8.5 miles of trails that wind through prairies, marshes, bottomland forest habitats and feature viewing platforms and bird blinds that give excellent viewing of a variety of birds and other wildlife. The Audubon Center gives a 140 degree view of wildlife through its large windows and high-powered scopes. It hosts many special events throughout the year.

The Audubon Center is open seven days a week from 8am-4pm except Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years Day. The Sanctuary is open 24 hours a day. Admission is FREE!

Directions: From I-270, Exit MO-367 N toward Alton, IL. MO-367 N becomes US-67 N. Before the Clark bridge and Mississippi River you will see signs for Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Turn right at the Sanctuary and proceed .8 miles to the Audubon Center with the large glass bay windows on the left.
