Missouri History Museum Riverfront Takeover Cruise on the Gateway Arch Riverboats. The St. Louis riverfront offers a 19th-century replica steamboat, the Tom Sawyer, for cruising the Mississippi River. A variety of cruises are offered: sightseeing cruises, holiday cruises, and cruises that feature dinner and entertainment. The Gateway Arch Riverboats can be chartered for a special occasion, such as a wedding, reunion or birthday party. Cruises begin regularly running in March and run through November, plus special Holiday Cruises in December.
