The Butterfly House in Faust Park will celebrate "Morpho Mardi Gras." Dates: January 30th through February 21st. During the Morpho Mardi Gras, the tropical butterfly conservatory is flooded with thousands of Blue Morpho butterflies. Plus, learn about legendary blues musicians and make a Mardi Gras masquerade mask to take home!
This event and all activities are included with the regular admission to the Butterfly House and held during regular attendance hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm. See website for more information and to reserve your admission ticket.
The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, located in Faust Park, is an extension of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Visitors are able to walk through the Tropical Conservatory which houses more than a thousand free flight tropical butterflies of 60 species from around the world. The Conservatory is kept warm for a perfect butterfly habitat. Visitors should dress appropriately! An admission fee is charged. Hours are seasonal. (St. Louis City & County residents enjoy free admission on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am-12pm. Proof of residency is required.) Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
