Summer Munchin' - Getting to Know Local Caterpillars - at the Butterfly House in Faust Park. Two Dates: Saturdays, June 3rd & 17th. Learn how to recognize caterpillars in your own garden and take a short walk to see host plants for those caterpillars. Participants will take home a host plant for their own gardens. The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, located in Faust Park, is an extension of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Visitors are able to walk through the Tropical Conservatory which houses more than a thousand free flight tropical butterflies of 60 species from around the world. The Conservatory is kept warm for a perfect butterfly habitat. Visitors should dress appropriately! An admission fee is charged. Hours are seasonal. (St. Louis City & County residents enjoy free admission on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am-12pm. Proof of residency is required.) Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
