The Great Forest Park Balloon Race at Central Fields in Forest Park

The 2022 Great Forest Park Balloon Race is the 50th Anniversary celebration of this two day annual event! Dates: Friday and Saturday, September 16th & 17th. Location: the Emerson Central Fields in Forest Park.

The Balloon Glow will take place on Friday evening, September 16th, from 5pm to 9pm with a fireworks finale beginning at 9:15pm.

On Saturday, September 17th, festivities begin at 1pm. Children's games and activities, live entertainment such as Purina Pro Plan Performance Team, skydivers, inflatables and more. There will be food trucks galore, concessions or bring your own picnic basket. The Balloon Race "Hare" Balloon launch will take place at 4:30pm with the "Hound" Balloon launch beginning at 4:45pm.

All events take place at the Emerson Central Fields. All events are FREE! VIP packages are available. See website for all the details!

Central Fields features several softball diamonds and soccer fields. This large grassy area is used to host many outdoor events such as the Great Forest Park Balloon Race, the Balloon Glow, and LouFest.
Directions: Located in Forest Park, north of the intersection of Wells Drive and Macklind Drive.
