The National Blues Museum opened its doors to the public on April 1, 2016. The museum celebrates and explores "the blues" musical genre as the foundation of all modern music with artifact exhibits, a state-of-the-art theater, and high impact technology. An admission fee for the museum is charged. Special events are also held throughout the year.
