An Open House weekend at the historic Thornhill, located in Faust Park. In celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Missouri statehood, visitors will learn about Frederick Bates, Missouri's second governor, and his part in creating Missouri as we now know it. Visitors will also enjoy touring the Governor's home, the smokehouse, ice house, family cemetery, two 19th century barns, blacksmith shop and more. FREE and open to the public. Faust Park features the Missouri Botanical Garden's Butterfly House, Faust Historical Village, the Thornhill Mansion and the 1920 St. Louis Carousel. It is located in West St. Louis County in Chesterfield Missouri and hosts a summer concert series, fall hayrides, and historical reenactment events in the Historical Village.
