The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, located in Faust Park, is an extension of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Visitors are able to walk through the Butterfly Conservatory which houses more than a thousand free flight tropical butterflies of 60 species from around the world and watch a new butterfly emerge from one of hundreds of chrysalises! The Conservatory is kept warm for a perfect butterfly habitat. Visitors should dress appropriately! An admission fee is charged. Children 2 and under are free. Educational classes and events are available throughout the year. Butterfly House hours are 10am-4pm, Wednesday through Sunday. (St. Louis City & County residents enjoy free admission on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am -12pm. Proof of residency is required.)
