The 18th annual Augusta Plein Air Art Festival will begin on April 22nd and go through May 3rd. "Plein Air" means "outdoors" and over 100 artists will converge on Augusta, Missouri, as well as be in Defiance and New Melle, to paint the picturesque spring setting. Daily registration during the Festival will be held at the Harmonie-Verein/American Legion 8am-3pm. The public is invited to observe while the artists create art! Plus enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Augusta's wineries, shops and restaurants. Augusta, Missouri overlooks the Missouri River and was founded in 1836 by a settler that came to St. Charles County with Daniel Boone. The historic town is known for its wineries, bed and breakfasts and restaurants. The Katy Trail State Park Bike Trail has a trail head located in the town. Several annual events are hosted in the quaint historic town.
