Kirkwood City Park is the most heavily used of the Kirkwood city parks. With 92 acres of park land, it features an outdoor amphitheater, picnic sites and pavilions, softball fields, tennis courts, handball courts, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, a playground, biking and walking trails, and a spray fountain. Also located within the park is Walker Lake that provides fishing opportunities, the Kirkwood Community Center, Robert G. Reim Theater, and the Aquatic Center and Ice Arena. The park hosts many annual community events such as the Greentree Festival, the Freedom Festival on the Fourth of July, and more.
