Spotting scopes and knowledgeable volunteers from The World Bird Sanctuary will be available to help you locate the eagles. Two "Meet & Greet" events at 10:45am & 1pm to get up close and personal with a bald eagle. A full replica of an eagle's nest for visitors to actually get inside is always a favorite. The Audubon Center at Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary is located in West Alton, MO. The Sanctuary is designated as an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society. It encompasses a total of 3700 acres with over 8.5 miles of trails that wind through prairies, marshes, bottomland forest habitats and feature viewing platforms and bird blinds that give excellent viewing of a variety of birds and other wildlife. The Audubon Center gives a 140 degree view of wildlife through its large windows and high-powered scopes. It hosts many special events throughout the year.

The Audubon Center is open seven days a week from 8am-4pm except Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years Day. The Sanctuary is open 24 hours a day. Admission is FREE!
