Art at War Exhibit at the Jefferson Barracks Old Ordnance Room Museum. Tour the exhibit and see the relationship between art and war through the original works of editorial cartoonist Bill Mauldin. The exhibit is FREE to visit every Wednesday-Sunday, 12pm-4pm. The Old Ordnance Room is located in Jefferson Barracks Park and is part of the Jefferson Barracks Historic Site that was founded in 1826 as a Federal military base. The Ordnance Room was built in 1851 and houses temporary exhibits with military themes. The Ordnance Room is FREE to visit. Guided tours can be booked in advance. Hours: Wednesday-Sunday, Noon-4pm.
The Powder Magazine Museum, built in 1857, is located nearby and houses a permanent exhibit of artifacts that showcase the history of Jefferson Barracks from 1826 to 1946. Admission is also FREE to the Powder Magazine. Hours: Wednesday-Sunday, Noon-4pm.
